Hi folks, I’d like to take a few minutes to introduce myself so you know a little more about the person behind all the ramblings on this site!
I’m Leanne, I am 33 years old and live in Lancashire, England. I’m a single mum to an amazing little boy, Ethan, he is 6 years old (going on 16!!!) and is the love of my life!! I’m not the kinda mum who thinks that everything my child does is fabulous, oh he can have some right old foot stomping tantrums at times, leaving me in total despair and feeling like the whole parenting job is not for me…..but thats generally all parents right?
In June 2014 my life changed overnight, I had a stroke. It was totally unexpected and it was pretty scary I can tell you. Since then I have had many health issues and a series of mini strokes. In this time I have also been diagnosed with M.E and Fibromyalgia, both being lifelong, incureable chronic health conditions. My mobility is fairly poor and I now rely on a mobility scooter to help me get around, I’m aiming to make mobility scooters look cool!!! One of my main symptoms is fatigue, and I mean really bad fatigue, I have days I can’t physically get out of bed my body hurts so much and the exhaustion is horrendous.
I refuse to let my health issues affect my life with Ethan. We have had to ‘slow down’ a little bit and Ethan now understands that mummy needs ‘rest days’ regularly. However, I still plan to do lots of activities together, to see the world, meet lots of new people and share amazing experiences together. I refuse to be beaten.
